Items moved into self-storage facilities aren’t monitored, so the adjacent units may contain hazardous or smelly materials or may be infested with pests. Exterior units can encounter problems during cold winter months. While there are concerns when it comes to self-storage, the biggest benefit is the ease of access to your possessions.
Moving companies take a detailed inventory of your items and their condition. All goods are blanket-wrapped and placed in wooden vaults that are completely sealed. Full value coverage can be purchased to properly insure the goods you are placing in storage and give you peace of mind. All movement into and out of a mover’s storage facility is managed and monitored. The only draw-back to using a mover’s storage facility is limited access to your belongings. You need to schedule an appointment during regular business hours and handling fees will apply. Generally, customers who choose moving company storage plan on having their items stored for a longer period of time, with no need for personal access.
